Ex- Doctor Charged with Assault Charges Involving Thirty-Eight Individuals in His Care
Legal authorities have stated that a former doctor stands accused of committing assaults against thirty-eight victims who were under his care.
The Grave Allegations
The accused, Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham faces allegations of numerous acts of sexual assault – including acts against minors under the age of thirteen – spanning the period from 2017 and 2021.
One deputy chief CPS official stated, “Legal teams have worked at length to support a thorough and intricate investigation, meticulously examining the available evidence to establish that there is sufficient evidence to proceed to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.”
The Investigation
These allegations follow what investigators called a “detailed inquiry” into alleged sexual offences at two hospitals: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and Russells Hall hospital.
The defendant will appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on 20 January.
Breakdown of Charges
The charging documents said the forty-five sexual offences include:
- 15 counts of sexual assault.
- 17 counts of assault by penetration.
- 9 counts of assault on a minor under thirteen.
- Three counts of penetrative assault on a child under thirteen.
- One count of attempting to assault by penetration.
