The Ideal Pocket Monster Legends: Z-A Mega Evolution Based on Your Zodiac Sign

This return of Mega Evolutions in Pokémon Legends: Z-A has ignited immense enthusiasm across the community. From the one-by-one unveiling of fresh additions before the game's release, to trainers developing firm views on the entire lineup of Mega Evolutions, there's a lot for fans to look forward to.

Given numerous of the Mega Evolutions showcasing unique designs that emphasize their traits, one idea came to mind: What's the best way to link this with astrology? The following is based on a mix of intuition, sign stereotypes, and individual observations.

The Ram – Super Camerupt

Honestly, Houndoom was nearly selected for Aries, as both are the Mega Pokémon and astrological sign that inspire the most fear. However, a Super Houndoom appears as constantly angry, which doesn't match the Ram's energy, renowned for being playful, light-hearted, and impulsive. This makes the Ram much more similar to Super Camerupt, which only spews lava when provoked. Stay on the good side of both and benefit from a strong ally; should you offend them, prepare to face the consequences.

Taurus – Mega Heracross

Similar to a loyal Taurus, the steadfast Heracross species, both in its standard and Mega form, has aided many trainers in Legends: Z-A. Though trustworthy, each the creature and a Taurus are still battle-oriented, and – be it their trainer or a strong opinion – will stand up for their position to the end. What about Super Heracross that recalls most of my Bull-sign companions, though, is its unashamed love of treats. Many previous Pokédex entries mention their fondness for sweet tree sap and how it uses its appendage to hoard it everything, which is pure Bull-sign vibe.

Gemini – Super Medicham

Look at this total royalty. You cannot tell me this Pokémon is not the life of every party, providing an endless fountain of gossip to those who wants to listen. Just like an enrapturing, sociable Gemini, it's incredibly easy to imagine Mega Medicham mesmerizing an entire Wild Zone with their stories. This Pokémon's Pokédex entry also mentions its capacity to predict an opponent's next moves, which sounds very like a socially-savvy Twins.

The Crab – Super Manectric

The Crab is widely regarded as the most sensitive sign of the astrological wheel, a passionate symbol famous for often getting wrapped up in their feelings. According to the official info, Mega Evolution fills the Pokémon with a “tremendous quantity of electricity, but it's too much for this Pokémon to completely control,” which sounds a lot like a typical Cancer crash-out. It is also known for its capability to create a storm cloud over its very head – and if there’s a single trait a Cancer is going to do, it’s spoil their own parade.

Leo – Super Starmie

Well, did you think I was planning to pick Pyroar for the king of the stars? Besides the reality that it would be much too obvious, Leo is clearly Super Starmie, the star whose gams just went viral for being extremely fabulous (or horrifying, based on your preference). Players were captivated from the violet sea star, and that’s exactly the same vibe a Lion brings to the scene. This Pokémon is also rumored to be broadcasting radio waves from its red core out into space, and it’s typical of a Leo to be putting on a performance, albeit for extraterrestrials.

Virgo – Mega Victreebel

The always-ready and perpetually-anxious Maiden is perfectly encapsulated in Super Victreebel, the Super Form with perpetual digestive issues. The sign famous for being endearingly judgmental is strongly mirrored throughout this Pokémon’s whole evolutionary chain, from a perpetually shocked expression like a Virgo when you tell them you lack a retirement plan, to its inverted visage that’s similar to the emoji a Virgo posts to the chatroom when everyone says they want to “go with the flow” instead of creating a strategy.

The Scales – Mega Audino

Observe this gentle, sensitive creature, who uses the sensors on its ears to detect how others are feeling by their pulse. Consistently compassionate – sometimes to a detriment – and striving to maintain the peace, there are numerous Scales who would likely appreciate Super Audino's abilities. Though, to be frank, it would probably just make them worry even more about others.

The Scorpion – Super Banette

Banette is a creature with a surprisingly tragic origin: Discarded as a doll, it became consciousness through pure resentment and vowed retribution on its former owner. Per the official info, Super Evolution, “enhances its spitefulness.” That sounds exactly like several conversations I’ve had with my scary Scorpio friends. A Scorpio adores karma and retribution, making them the perfect match with Super Banette.

The Archer – Super Hawlucha

Each Super Hawlucha and Archers are constantly staging a show. Being a Sagittarius personally, the amount of times I’ve called myself some variation of a “silly little jester” is countless. The showiest and most obnoxious Super Form, its description even notes how it “flexes to show off its strength.” I would do the exact same thing if I had a Super Form, making Mega Hawlucha the most apt Archer match I can imagine.

The Goat – Super Absol

Did you know that a Mega Absol has the power to predict calamities in advance? That gives the exact same energy as a Goat, who tends to always think they’re right. The thing is, similar to a prophetic Mega Absol, they often are. It’s also the absolute initial Mega Evolution that players encounter in Legends: Z-A – typical of a Goat to join the beginning of the Super Form craze.

The Water Bearer – Super Chandelure

Detached air sign Water Bearer is arguably the non-fire sign that is most like a fire sign – its counterpart is the Lion, and there are numerous memes about Sagittarius and Aquarius being unpredictable partners in crime. Super Chandelure's dual Ghost/Fire category matches perfectly with this, and the Super Form's overall intimidating aura is also very Water Bearer. If you weren’t already persuaded, the Mega’s Pokédex entry says it “draws in hatred and converts it into power.” If that fails to exactly {encaps
