Lionesses forward Michelle Agyemang, darts prodigy Luke Littler and batswoman Davina Perrin have been selected as contenders for the upcoming Young Athlete of the Year award.

These three athletes have been celebrated for their exceptional achievements over the previous year.

Agyemang was instrumental as the Lionesses claim victory in Euro 2025, Littler secured the world title for the very first time, and Perrin rose to fame with a unprecedented innings.

Littler won the award in 2024 after his sensational debut year.

The three contenders were revealed during a live broadcast on a widely-listened-to radio show.

The champion will be announced during a live broadcast on the annual sports awards show on December 18th.

The event will be aired from 7 PM GMT.

Agyemang's Profile

Age: 19 Sport: Football

A mere three months after her international debut, Agyemang played a pivotal and thrilling role in England's run to winning the Euros.

She was introduced as a substitute to score vital last-gasp goals in both the last eight and last four matches.

Agyemang's stunning interventions led to her being named the best young player at the Euros.

Afterwards, she was awarded the Golden Girl award for the best young player in Europe.

She was also in contention for the Kopa Trophy for the world's best under-21 female player.

Agyemang, who has been on loan at Brighton from Arsenal, ruptured her anterior cruciate ligament in October.

"Being on the shortlist for this award is incredible," said Agyemang. "I thank God and I'm thankful for the support I've received from my family, coaches, team-mates and fans."

The Darts Prodigy

Age: 18 Sport: Darts

Littler kicked off the year in sensational style as - aged 17 - he became the youngest darts world champion in history.

He secured a commanding win over Michael van Gerwen in the final.

His subsequent victory at the World Matchplay made him only the fifth player to complete the prestigious triple crown of major titles.

He didn't stop there - his triumph in November's Grand Slam of Darts meant he climbed to world number one for the maiden occasion.

At 18, he is the most youthful player to do so, smashing the previous record.

"Being nominated for this award again is a big honour," stated Littler. "Winning last year was a special memory for me and I've had another amazing 12 months. I want to continue promoting darts."

Perrin's Profile

Age: 19 Sport: Cricket

Perrin is one of English cricket's top prospects and rose to fame with an extraordinary and record-breaking innings in August.

Her brilliant 42-ball century in The Hundred is the speediest century from an England batswoman in T20s.

It also stands as the joint third-fastest women's T20 century in a major league or full member T20 international.

Perrin came in second place in the run-scoring charts and was named the Professional Cricketers' Association's top young women's player.

"I'm truly honoured to be named a finalist for the Young Sports Personality of the Year award," expressed Perrin. "It means a great deal. I hope it motivates more girls to get into cricket."
